Short Story Background:
The presence of coffee as a historical current in Indonesia has many interpretations. It does not exist in ‘a vacuum space’. Essentially, there is always a context underlying the meaning of coffee as an extractive commodity, a fair commodity, an ecological commodity, or a new perspective.
Starting with the documentary “Aroma of Heaven,” the 7 Origins project becomes a kind of “cinematic pilgrimage” that invites us to observe and observe the events and dynamics of coffee. There is a distinctive pattern when we see the “roots” in a cup of coffee. Through this pilgrimage, we become an inseparable part of the land, water, air, wind, and traditions built by humans. The cinematic experience of a cup of coffee should also be a truly complete experience.
